American Retro Classic Racer

Forget those plastic-fantastic Fisher-Price Power Wheels… we’re bigger fans of old-school pedal cars here at WINDING ROAD. And boy, this one looks to be a beauty— an all-steel homage in miniature to Ferrari’s F2 race cars (1952-1957). Just looking at this American Retro Classic Racer has us eyeballing the width of our office hallways to see if we can manage some solid two-abreast pedal car races.

This unusually large, chrome-laden pedal car is suitable for those ages 3 to 7, and boasts solid rubber tires and a vinyl seat. Pricing is a bit dear at $581 for the chrome version shown here, but more traditional colors (red, blue, green, white, black, and yellow) are available for $100 less—sunglasses not included. That strikes us as a bit expensive, but this looks to be of heirloom quality, so it might just be worth it.
